Queen cakes: classic sultana fairy cakes

Try these Queen cakes, with their lovely soft texture contrasted with the juicy fruit inside. They’re so quick and easy to make, so if you need something at the very last minute, this is what you’re looking for. If it’s just an anytime snack or a kids party, packed lunch box or a bake-sale, this will fit the bill.

Made these for my 14yr old daughter’s birthday in lieu of a large cake as she prefers fairy cakes & they were delicious! Iced some of them with sprinkles & left some plain. Really tasty & they rose a treat. My late mom used this exact recipe & I remember creaming the butter & sugar then being allowed to lick the wooden spoon! Thanks very much

Hi just wondering if 10g of butter is correct. Seems a tiny amount. Thanks
