Raspberry Buns
In my bakery both in the UK and here in Spain, these Old Fashioned Raspberry Buns were always one of the very best sellers. So simple, yet so delicious, even now I can sit back with one of these and a nice cup of tea and be instantly in heaven.
I have tried other flavour jams in this recipe by for me personally, they didn’t work, I fear it just has to be Raspberry Jam ONLY for me.

Love these sometimes make them with lemon curd or ginger preserve, they always dissapear quickly
I remember my mother making these but only at Christmas time. She would drizzle a bit of icing over the top to make them extra special. She called them, Raspberry Shorts. I make them whenever I want. I agree with you, only raspberry jam will do! They are delicious!
I remember these fondly from my childhood and found what could be laughingly called the recipe in my grandmother’s handwritten recipe book……literally just a list of ingredients.
I followed your instructions and they taste even better than I remember. My only modification was I used homemade blackberry jelly instead of raspberry jam.
Currently baking a batch for some co workers fingers crossed my baking is okay lol
