Pork & Apple Rissoles

Rissoles go back a long way, in fact as a child I remember they were usually served up on a Monday as way of using any cold meat left over from the Sunday roast. They can of course be made with fresh raw meat but but the taste and texture is not the same. However, these pork & apple rissoles are both delicious and very versatile.

  • 1 Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Frying Pan

Ingredients

  • 500 g Minced Pork
  • 1 Apple Granny Smith
  • 1 Medium Onion Chopped Fine
  • 1 Carrot Grated
  • 1 Spring Onion Chopped Fine
  • 1 Medium Egg
  • 2 Tbls Fresh Parsley

DISCLAIMER

I recommend using the Metric measurements (instead of cups & spoons) for more accuracy and better results.

Instructions

  • Once all your ingredients are prepared place them all in the mixing bowl except the oil and breadcrumbs
  • Mix all these ingredient preferably by hand (a mixer tends to make it too smooth)
  • If your mixture appears too wet then add some of the breadcrumbs, repeat this until the mixture hold together well when formed into a ball.
  • Finally form your mixture into whatever size balls you require, slightly flatten them then fry gently in the oil for 4 minutes on each side.
  • See my video for various serving suggestions
