Ingredients
- 4 pork chops
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large onion cut into thin wedges
- 60 ml dry red wine or chicken stock
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 large pears ripe ones, cut into 2.5cm (1-inch) wedges
DISCLAIMER
I recommend using the Metric measurements (instead of cups & spoons) for more accuracy and better results.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180ºC.
- In an ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat, brown pork chops on both sides; remove from pan.
- In the same pan, heat oil over medium heat; saute onion until tender, 3-5 minutes. Add the wine, vinegar and honey; bring to a boil, stirring to loosen browned bits from pan bottom. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Return chops to the pan; top with the pears and transfer to the preheated oven and bake until pears are tender, 15-20 minutes.
