Balti Spice Mix
This Balti Spice Mix can be made as mild or as hot as you prefer simply by adjusting the Cayenne Pepper amount. I realise it’s always nice to use fresh herbs and spices whenever possible, however, if you decide to have a Balti type curry at the last minute that’s not so easy, but with my Dry Balti Spice Mix you can have one anytime.
This recipe us for using all dried herbs and spices .
Ingredients
Coriander 30g
Cumin 24g
Turmeric 12g
Plain flour 28g
Salt 24g
Ginger 40g
Cayenne 15g or a good Chilli Powder
Clove 8g
Bay leaf/Laurel 8g
I add all the ingredients in a coffee/spice grinder to make sure everything is well blended together. You can store this mix in a screw top jar for several months.

Hi Barbara, Yes, I’m feeling much better thanks.
Can’t wait for this recipe. Hope your neck is improving.
Hi Kevin, in my bakery we made Chicken Balti Patsies and this is the spice mix I made for them. As for the number of servings, that depends on how spicy you like your food. I will try to post my Balti Pasty recipe, I have a lot of catching up following this broken neck I’m still recovering from.
I notice you don’t have a balti recipe. How many servings will this 100g spice mix provide?
