Flapjacks are are an age old classic snack that appeal to all ages. And with only 4 ingredients in a traditional flapjack recipe, they’re not that hard to make either!

Ingredients
- 225 g Porridge Oats
- 125 g Butter or Margarine
- 125 g Demerara Sugar
- 75 g Golden Syrup
DISCLAIMER
I recommend using the Metric measurements (instead of cups & spoons) for more accuracy and better results.
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas 4. Grease and line an 8"/20cm square tin.
- In a saucepan melt the butter/margarine with the sugar and syrup.
- Stir in the oats making sure they are well coated.
- Turn into the prepared tin. Smooth top and press down well.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes.
- When baked, cool in tin for 5 minutes. Cut into fingers.
- Cool completely before removing from tin.

Dead easy to make, half the price and twice as good as shop-bought flapjacks.
You do have to be careful though, because once you start eating them it’s difficult to stop.
