I recommend using the Metric measurements (instead of cups & spoons) for more accuracy and better results.
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC/160ºC Fan
- In a medium bowl, combine the butter, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese. Mix together with a spoon until well blended.
- Add the flour, salt, and chives to the butter mixture and mix until well blended.
- Form the dough into 3/4-inch balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten the balls using the bottom of a drinking glass or with the tines of a fork until each cracker is about 1/4-inch thick.

Tip
To freeze, place on a baking sheet and freeze until solid. Seal in heavy-duty zip-loc freezer bags, label, and freeze for up to 3 months. When ready to eat, toast in a toaster oven or oven until hot and crisp.

Hi Karen,
Freeze after cooking once they are cold. Follow my directions, it also explains to crisp them up in a toaster or in the oven before serving. Hople this helps.
Hi Paul, quick question, you mention in your notes at the bottom of your recipe, freezing the crackers, do you mean before cooking them or after? i would have thought freezing them once cooked, would make them go soggy! To be perfectly honest with you though, I could never see that there would be chance to get them to the freezer …… they would be gone in minutes after baking!!! Lol!
Hi Doreen, I personally haven’t tried that, but I spoke to a friend who has and she said it was good, so, give it a go and let’s know what you think.
Can I use vegan cheeses to make these, slightly different consistency? Thanks.
